There are several benefits to having a record suspended—also called a pardon. If the waiting period has run out since you served your sentence and if all your fines have been paid, you can apply to have your record suspended through our organization.

How to apply

With Commissionnaires, all clients are entitled to the same personalized and professional service. We prepare all the forms; all you have to do is sign them. We will update you on the status of your application every step of the process and your information will remain strictly confidential.

  • We will check whether you qualify
  • We will track down all of your files
  • We will ensure that the files for which you were acquitted—accusation (rejected, suspended), conditional and absolute discharge, etc.—are removed from computer systems

Please contact one of the Commissionnaires du Québec offices to make an appointment. The first meeting includes fingerprinting. In order to accelerate the process, please bring with you all the required documentation. You must provide two valid, government-issued pieces of identification, including one with a picture. Here is a list of the accepted pieces of identification:

  • Passport
  • Driver’s licence
  • Birth certificate
  • Canadian citizenship card
  • Permanent resident card
  • Indian status certificate
  • Immigration documents (work or study permit)
  • Military Family Identification Card (MFIC)
  • Record of landing (for citizenship applications)
  • Certificate of live birth
  • Nexus card
